The BioRefining Alliance, headed by director Anne Grete Holmsgaard, contributes with new views on how we can get the most value out of biomass. Friday saw the Alliance’s founding board meeting.

The BioRefining Alliance aims to use the world’s limited biomass resources in the best possible way, utilising existing and new technologies in the production of biobased energy and materials, Danish newspaper The Engineer reports on Saturday December 17 2011.

The discussion about the use of biomass has shifted from being a pure climate issue to also including the lack of resources as a consequence off, amongst other things, the world’s increased population.

- That is why it is incredibly important that the technologies do not fight amongst themselves, but rather collaborate across the value chain in the development of the best ways of getting the most value out of the limited land areas that are available for biomass production, Anne Grete Holmsgaard says to the Engineer.
